23 November 2014

Dear Students

I wanted us to have the Chapter 4 test on Thursday, but as we discussed, we agreed we will have it on Sunday 30 November 2014. Revise thoroughly the equations of motion, Newton’s laws of motion and their applications in solving problems.

Just a reminder; hand in to me any work that you not given me as soon as possible. Things are going change rapidly in this class. Do not be left behind.

26 October 2014

We will have a test on Thursday 30 Oct 2014 on Chapter 2 and 3. Do review questions at the end of the two chapters. Any questions that give you headache bring them to class we discuss.

Those people who have not handed in their pieces of classwork, homework or even lab questions do so ASAP.

Good luck and no excuses.

Attached is work we did last week and this week.

I have included significant figures for those who joined late.

15 October 2014

Dear all

Please make sure you complete the Vectors worksheet I gave you on Sunday. I have appended it here.

We are doing Vectors now, basically the introduction. This will help us understand better Two Dimensional Motion. Please use your text book to read Chapter 3 sections 1 and 2 from page 82 to 94. This will put you in a better understanding of Motion. After Vectors, we will do Falling objects chapter 2 section 3 together with Projectile Motion.

All the best

21 September 2014

Dear all

We have so far covered Chapter 1-The Science of Physics. This includes 1) What is Physics 2)Measurements in Physics and 3)the Language of Physics . We will do more problems on unit conversions, SF, Scientific notation and dimensional analysis to practise. In the meantime I would like you to attempt all questions on page 27 and 28 of your text book. Hand in this on Wednesday. 17/09. Remember we have a tight schedule!

So we will have Chapter 1 test this Thursday 25/09/2014.
